I have found Minion Pro font family very beautiful and elegant. In my opinion it suits perfectly for such a book.

The crucial role of a coffee table book is design. Such type of book is not about to read, but about to look, therefore the front cover must be attractive and make you want to take it immediately.

😂Fun fact: John (the name has been changed) said that he doesn't know the meaning of this cuneiform illustration. However he decided to have it on the front cover because of glyph's beauty. And I decided to make it even more visually appealing by 3D modelling the glyph from scratch using Blender.

Result
So here you can see what I came up with in the end. I like photorealistic images and different 3D shapes, also it's very trendy today in graphic design. These are the main reasons of my decision. It's still simple as requested, but more attractive and relevant.
Unfortunately for me, they chose a different design for the final release, but I'm still glad I was a part of such an interesting project. Furthermore I had the honor to meet with sinologist and writer. Thank you sir for the experience.
